We invite you to the Seminar series “Digital History in/of Central Asia”, organised the Chair of Modern and Eastern European History, Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg in collaboration with the German Association for East European Studies (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Osteuropakunde, DGO)
The sixth seminar will be held on June 13, 14:15 CEST (14:15 Berlin / 15:15 Kyiv / 17:15 Tashkent and Almaty / 18:15 Bishkek) online in Zoom and onsite: Erlangen, Bismarckstr. 12.
Topic: Declassification of Archival Documents and Providing Access to Them: The Experience of Ukraine (1991–2024).
Invited expert: Dr. Serhii Kokin, senior researcher at the Institute of History of Ukraine of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, former employee of the Archive of the Security Service of Ukraine (1996–2014), Kyiv.
The presentation is dedicated to the process of declassifying archival documents in Ukraine from the 1990s to the present day. Currently, access to declassified digitized materials is provided in the reading room of the Archive of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv, with restrictions on access to them being lifted in 2014–2015. The presentation will also cover the national databases of repressed and rehabilitated persons created in the country, as well as international projects implemented jointly with the countries of Central Asia, among others.
The presentation language: Russian, questions can be asked in Russian, Ukrainian, English, German.

Приглашаем принять участие в серии семинаров ”Цифровая история (в) Центральной Азии”, организованной Кафедрой новой и Восточно-Европейской истории Университета Эрлангена – Нюрнберга в сотрудничестве с Немецкой ассоциацией Восточно-Европейских исследований (DGO).
Очередной семинар серии пройдет 13 июня 2024 года в 14:15 CEST (15:15 Киев / 17:15 Ташкент и Алматы / 18:15 Бишкек) в гибридном режиме в Эрлангене (Bismarckstr. 12) и в Zoom.
Тема: Рассекречивание архивных документов и предоставление доступа к ним: опыт Украины (1991–2024).
Приглашенный эксперт: Сергей Кокин, кандидат исторических наук, старший научный сотрудник Института истории Украины Национальной академии наук Украины, бывший сотрудник Отраслевого государственного архива Службы безопасности Украины (1996–2014), Киев.
Доклад посвящен процессу рассекречивания архивных документов в Украине с 1990-х годов до настоящего времени. Сейчас доступ к рассекреченным оцифрованным материалам предоставляется в читальном зале Архива Службы безопасности Украины в Киеве, ограничения на доступ к ним были сняты в 2014–2015 годах. Также будут рассмотрены созданные в стране базы данных репрессированных и реабилитированных лиц, а также международные проекты, реализуемые в том числе совместно со странами Центральной Азии.
Язык доклада: русский, вопросы могут задаваться на русском, украинском английском, немецком.
